On his death anniversary, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes at Sadaiv Atal Memorial in New Delhi to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India’s statesman, poet, and Bharat Ratna awardee. Several Union Ministers and leaders joined the homage.

Leaders Pay Tribute:

• President Murmu and PM Modi led the nation in offering tributes at the Sadaiv Atal Memorial.
• Key dignitaries present included Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Om Birla and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta.
• Vajpayee, a BJP stalwart, passed away on 16th August 2018.
• Since then, his memorial in Delhi has become a site for annual national remembrance.

• Served as Prime Minister of India thrice:
  • 1996 – First tenure lasted only 13 days.
  • 1998–1999 – Second tenure of 11 months.
