ACADEMIC SUPPORT COMMITTEES

The Academic Support Committee work in hand with Universal Group of Institution to ensure the proper maintenance of academic rigor. It is responsible for encouraging an intellectually stimulating environment by supporting the UGI. Apart from the keen focus on academic success, the committee is also responsible to ensure the personal development of students and maintain student satisfaction.

ANTI-RAGGING CELL

Universal Group of Institutions maintains a healthy and congenial academic environment for the students and strives to develop a friendly atmosphere between senior and junior students in the college by organizing various awareness programmes. The Anti-Ragging Cell ensures that ragging or any other misconduct does not occur inside or outside the college premises and the forum is open to all type of complaints and redressal is provided in accordance with stipulated guidelines. Anti-ragging committee of UGI aims to ensure a bully-free campus.

ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT CELL

Sensitization against any form of sexual harassment in the campus is an essential pre-requisite for peaceful and dignified living. In this light, Universal Group of Institutions has constituted a cell to work for the awareness and deterrence of any gender based ill practices. Reports of sexual harassment will be taken seriously and dealt with promptly. The campus also recognizes and respects the confidentiality and privacy of individuals reporting or accused of sexual harassment. The college is thus committed to providing for all free from sexual harassment, intimidation and exploitation.

COMPETITIVE EXAM CELL

Universal Coaching Centre since its inception, has produced many stalwarts who have made their mark on various fields and have contributed to the development of India. Lately as the role of the state is increasing, there is a need of strong and efficient bureaucracy, which can be performing its duties in an ethical and accountable manner, support the edifice of the other two branches, the legislature and the judiciary. For this, Universal Group of Institutions, has started a competitive Exam Cell, for creating and honing ethical, efficient, competent bureaucrats who can assimilate their legal knowledge with administrative acumen and serve on the vanguard of the government machinery.

CULTURAL COMMITTEE

The cultural committee of Universal Group of Institutions aims for a holistic growth by promoting extra-curricular activities among the students. It provides them a platform to enhance their talents ranging from literary, art to performing arts. The committee also aims for a culturally interactive campus. As students from different parts of India are part of the Institution, the activities would also reflect the diversity of the students. Hence, students would be provided with a space to enrich themselves of the various aspects of different regions of India.

HOSTEL COMMITTE

Hostel Committee is responsible for the smooth functioning of the hostel and mess facilities at UCI, Bangalore under the supervision of the Administrator and the Warden. The hostels of a college are defined as a second home for the ones who reside in the same. Hostels are the place where the students live, spend time with their friends, study and do all their chores after college hours. Separate hostel facilities are provided for Boys and Girls in the Universal Group of Institution. It has adequate high security and good discipline. The students who are not staying with the parents shall reside in the college hostel as per college rules.

HUMAN RIGHTS CELL

The Human Rights Cell aims at creating awareness about human rights among the faculties, staffs and students. It also aims at personality development of individual and to lead a decent and dignified life without infringing the rights of others. The Human Rights Cell aims to provide a “forum where students are able to further their knowledge of modern correctional issues and to bring their classroom learning to life”.

NOTICE BOARD COMMITTEE

For the advancement of higher education and to imbibe the quest for learning among the students and faculty community, the college has constituted the Notice Board Committee. This would help in proliferating higher education combined with humane and pragmatic outlook amongst all the students and members of the institution. This committee would help establish the college as a centre for excellence through innovative approach.

N.S.S COMMITTEE

The overall aim of National Service Scheme is to give an extension dimension to the higher education system and orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in UGI. The educated youth who are expected to take the reins of administration in future are found to be unaware of the problems of the village/slum community and in certain cases are indifferent towards their needs and problems
To arouse the social conscience of the students, and to provide them an opportunity to work with the people in the villages and slums, it is the NSS Committee’s objective and mission to create interaction with the common villagers and slum dwellers to expose them to the realities of life and bring about a change in their social perception.

RED CROSS COMMITTEE

Universal Group of Institution has constituted red cross committee to meet the needs of vulnerable people within the local community. The committee aims to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities. It instils the great humanitarian spirit and values within the members of the community by making them to participate in many kinds of social service activities. It makes the students socially responsible, caring and accountable citizens of the nation

SC/ST GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

The Committee aims to deliver justice to SC/ST communities through affirmative action in order to enable them to live in society with dignity, self-esteem and without fear and violence. The objective of the cell is to prevent caste discrimination committed against SC/ST students, redress any grievances and to protect their interest. The Committee members are appointed by the college authorities and the aggrieved person can approach the committee by registering a complaint with the principal.

STUDENTS GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

The Students Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address both academic related and other problems and complaints of students in the institution. The Grievance Cell is also empowered to look into the matters of harassment. Students may approach the cell to voice their grievances regarding academic matters, health services, library and such other services.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL

The Entrepreneurship Cell has started with the objective for promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development, innovation and creative ideas. In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors) and lack of proper utilization of human resources; the Entrepreneurship Cell strives to identify talented youth and motivate them to entrepreneurial and innovation works. The centre plans to develop various innovative ideas with the young entrepreneurs.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL

Women Empowerment Cell in Universal Group Of Institutions strives to maintain and augment the gender-neutral atmosphere of college. The Cell encourages the girls to come forward to talk about women related issues and tries to sensitize the youth about gender reality as the goal to emancipate and empower women. Focus of the Cell is to eliminate the discrimination and all forms of violence against women and girl child . With a view of taking up women’s issues and problems, the Cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties.

Grievance Redressal

As part of our constant endeavour to ensure transparency in all the activities at different stages, College provides proper mechanism to students, parents and faculties for redressal of their grievances.

This Form provides guidance for students in following the grievance process for academic and non-academic grievances, and complaints of unlawful discrimination or unfair treatment. Use this form to document your grievance.
