Rare Discovery from the Vijayanagara Era

A remarkable 16th-century Telugu inscription from the reign of Vijayanagara Emperor Achyuta Deva Raya has been discovered in Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh. The inscription, dating back to the 1530s, records land grants and offers important insights into the administrative systems of the medieval Deccan region under the Vijayanagara Empire.

The discovery is significant for historians studying South Indian polity, land revenue administration and temple patronage during one of India’s most powerful imperial periods.
