India–UAE Ties Strengthened with $5 Billion Investment Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held high-level talks in Abu Dhabi, further strengthening the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The UAE announced a major $5 billion investment commitment linked to cooperation in energy, defence, maritime infrastructure, technology and strategic sectors.

This development is significant as India continues to deepen its West Asia engagement amid regional volatility. The partnership also reflects India’s growing role in energy security, connectivity, investment flows and strategic cooperation with Gulf countries.

ISIS Second-in-Command Eliminated in Nigeria

US President Donald Trump announced that Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, described as ISIS’s global second-in-command, was eliminated in a joint US–Nigerian counter-terror operation in Nigeria. Reports indicate that the operation took place in Borno State and targeted an ISIS-linked network operating in the Lake Chad Basin region.

For India, such developments remain important from the perspective of global counter-terror cooperation, terror financing networks and the Financial Action Task Force framework. The incident highlights the continuing global threat posed by transnational terror organisations and the need for stronger intelligence-sharing mechanisms.

Bhojshala Verdict Reopens Heritage and Worship Debate

The Madhya Pradesh High Court’s verdict on the Bhojshala complex in Dhar district has revived debate around history, religious identity, protected monuments and the Places of Worship Act, 1991. Reports state that the court’s decision has been welcomed by Hindu groups, while political leaders such as Digvijay Singh have questioned aspects of the ruling, calling the site an ASI-protected monument.

The issue is important for constitutional studies because it brings together questions of religious freedom, historical claims, archaeological protection and legal limits on altering the character of places of worship.

Centre’s Submission on Article 25 and Gender Equality

In the ongoing Sabarimala-related constitutional debate, the Centre argued before the Supreme Court that the scope of religious freedom under Articles 25 and 26 cannot be examined in the same manner as ordinary equality claims under Article 14. The case is being heard by a nine-judge Constitution Bench dealing with the relationship between religious freedom, denominational autonomy, morality and gender justice.

The matter has wide implications beyond Sabarimala, as it may influence future rulings on temple entry, religious customs, gender-specific rituals and the balance between constitutional morality and religious autonomy.

India Pushes Reformed Multilateralism at BRICS

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s commitment to reformed and effective multilateralism at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi. India also held important discussions with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on West Asian stability and engaged with other partner countries on areas such as health, technology and development.

The meeting gained importance because BRICS is now an expanded grouping, and the ongoing tensions in West Asia have tested the bloc’s ability to arrive at a common position. Reports also noted that BRICS ministers could not issue a joint statement due to differences over the conflict in the Middle East.

India’s First Hydrogen-Powered Shuttle Bus Service in Central Vista

DMRC and Indian Oil Corporation Limited launched a hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Delhi’s Central Vista area. The initiative is being seen as a clean mobility milestone because hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles emit only water vapour at the tailpipe.

This development supports India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and reflects the country’s broader push toward zero-emission urban transport. Hydrogen mobility can play an important role in reducing urban pollution and dependence on fossil fuels.

Rajasthan Gets Its First Semiconductor Cluster

Rajasthan inaugurated its first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi, Alwar district. The facility, associated with Sahasra Semiconductors, is located within the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Salarpur-Khushkhera.

The project is significant for India’s semiconductor mission, domestic electronics manufacturing and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Semiconductor capacity is crucial for electronics, defence, automobiles, telecom, artificial intelligence and strategic technologies.

Indian-Designed Kaal Bhairava Combat Aircraft to be Manufactured in Portugal

Flying Wedge Defence announced that its Kaal Bhairava AI combat aircraft will be manufactured in Portugal in partnership with European firm SKETCHPIXEL LDA. Reports describe this as the first overseas production node for the Indian-designed autonomous combat aircraft.

This marks an important moment for India’s private defence manufacturing ecosystem. It also reflects the growing international footprint of Indian defence technology and the expanding possibilities under Atmanirbhar Bharat in advanced aerospace systems.
