People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR)
PBR documents biodiversity comprehensively, covering habitats, land races, domesticated animals, micro-organisms, and local biological knowledge.
It aims to preserve and manage biological diversity within specific regions.
Current Status and Implementation
Biodiversity Management Committees in various states have prepared 2,67,608 PBRs to date.
Efforts are underway to establish PBRs in every village nationwide under Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), focusing on sustainable resource use and community-level actions for environmental conservation.
