India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise DUSTLIK-6 Begins

Why in the News ?

The 6th India-Uzbekistan joint military exercise ‘DUSTLIK-6’ has begun at Pune’s Foreign Training Node. This annual event strengthens defence ties and focuses on sharing tactics for joint sub-conventional operations. The exercise will continue until April 28, 2025.

Participating Forces:

  • The Indian contingent includes 60 personnel from the JAT Regiment and the Indian Air Force.
  • The Uzbekistan contingent comprises troops from the Uzbek Army.
  • Both sides aim to exchange best practices and improve cooperation on Joint Sub-Conventional Operations.

Objectives and Significance:

  • The exercise focuses on tactics, techniques, and procedures for real-world joint operations.
  • It aims to enhance defence collaboration and strengthen military-to-military relations.
  • The event promotes strategic partnership and mutual trust between India and Uzbekistan.
  • The exercise will run till April 28, 2025.

About the Exercise:

●      The 6th edition of the India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise, DUSTLIK-6, began on April 16, 2025.

●      The exercise is being held at the Foreign Training Node, Aundh, Pune, Maharashtra.

●      It is an annual bilateral training event hosted alternately by India and Uzbekistan.
