Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026: Support System for MSMEs

The Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026 has gained attention as a major initiative aimed at creating trained paraprofessionals to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The scheme seeks to build a skilled cadre of “Corporate Mitras” who can assist MSMEs in regulatory compliance, GST, accounting, financial guidance, cost accounting, secretarial services and corporate governance.

According to the scheme guidelines, the programme includes structured academic learning along with on-the-job training, helping youth become industry-ready while also improving professional support for MSMEs. This is significant because MSMEs often struggle with compliance costs, taxation procedures and formal financial management. By providing affordable professional assistance, the scheme can strengthen ease of doing business in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

India’s First Offshore Airport Planned Near Kore Beach, Palghar

Maharashtra has moved forward with the proposal for India’s first offshore airport near Kore beach in Palghar district. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the preparation of a Detailed Project Report after a pre-feasibility assessment found the project viable. The proposed airport is expected to support the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as a third major international aviation hub, along with Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports.

The airport is being linked with the larger Vadhvan port-led development strategy and could improve connectivity to Mumbai, the upcoming bullet train network and coastal infrastructure corridors. If implemented, the project would mark a major step in India’s coastal infrastructure planning.

Haryana and Rajasthan Move Ahead on Yamuna Water Sharing

Haryana and Rajasthan signed an agreement in New Delhi to operationalise the long-pending 1994 Upper Yamuna River Board Agreement. The development is important because it seeks to resolve a delay of nearly three decades in Yamuna water allocation and water infrastructure planning.

The project is expected to help water-scarce regions of Rajasthan, especially through pipeline-based transfer of allocated Yamuna water. It also carries significance for inter-state river water cooperation, federal coordination and long-term drinking water security.

India strongly condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghan territory, describing them as an act of aggression against Afghanistan’s sovereignty and a threat to regional peace and stability. Reports said the strikes killed civilians and injured many others in eastern Afghanistan.

The issue is significant for India’s foreign policy because it connects to regional stability, sovereignty, cross-border security and humanitarian concerns in Afghanistan. India’s statement also reflects its continued support for Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.
