Why in the news?

Following the successful completion of its first phase at Sulur in Tamil Nadu, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced that its international air combat exercise, Tarang Shakti, will now be held on a regular basis.

Details of Exercise Tarang Shakti

  • Participants: Ten countries, including Germany, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, sent fighter jets to participate in the exercise, which included 51 air forces from across the world.
  • Objective: The exercise’s objectives are to demonstrate air power, build strategic alliances, and improve interoperability amongst participating nations.

About the Indian Air Force (IAF)
