New CEO Of NITI Aayog : BVR Subrahmanyam

News: BVR Subrahmanyam has been named as the next CEO of NITI Ayog by PM Modi.

 

  •  BVR Subrahmanyam was Chief Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • He was a Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer who graduated in 1987.
  • During 2004 to 2008, he worked as Mr. Manmohan Singh’s personal secretary.

NITI Aayog

 

  • It acts as the Government of India’s top think tank for public policy and as the focal point for developing cooperative federalism and economic development by involving the State Governments of India in the formulation of economic policies in a bottoms up approach.
  • Created on January 1, 2015
  • Objectives: Encourage Indian State Governments’ involvement and participation in the formulation of economic policies.
