About Japan Navy Helicopter Crash:
- Two Japanese navy helicopters, SH-60K choppers, carrying eight crew members crashed in the Pacific Ocean south of Tokyo during nighttime training.
- Defense Minister Minoru Kihara reported one fatality and seven crew members missing after the crash.
- Officials suspect a possible collision between the helicopters before they crashed into the water near Torishima island.
- Search and rescue efforts were intensified with the deployment of 12 warships and seven aircraft to locate the missing crew.
- US Ambassador to Japan, Rahm Emanuel, offered assistance in the search and rescue operation, pledging support to Japan.
