News: Seventy-two percent of the almost 18,000 first-time job searchers who were skilled under the Skill Impact Bond (SIB) initiative were women.
India’s first development impact bond for skilling and employment is called the Skill Impact Bond (SIB).
by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), with the assistance of international partners
The goal is to help 50,000 young Indians (over 4 years), with a 60% concentration on empowering women.
It is a public-private partnership (PPP) approach that places a stronger emphasis on giving trainees work prospects than just granting training certificates.
The SIB examines how the epidemic has affected women’s employment, reduces obstacles to keeping women in the workforce, and makes use of resources and knowledge from the private sector.
It also promotes knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practises in order to develop the ecosystem of technical and vocational education in India.
