Sarmat Missile : Russia

News: The latest generation of Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles, the Sarmat, which can carry ten or more nuclear warheads, will soon be deployed for combat duty, according to the Russian president.

Russia’s latest generation of intercontinental ballistic missiles is the RS-28 Sarmat.

The Sarmatian people of the fourth and fifth centuries BC are honoured by the name. The “Satan II” is another name for it that has been used in the West.

It has the capacity to transport ten or more nuclear weapons.

The Russian Makeyev Rocket Design Bureau created it and constructed it.

Its range is roughly 18,000 km.

It has a top speed of 25,500 km per hour.

Weight at launch: 208,100 kg

It can load a range of warhead types including a 10-ton payload.

According to reports, it has the capacity to carry up to 16 smaller warheads, 10 large warheads, a combination of warheads and countermeasures, or hypersonic boost-glide vehicles.

The RS-28 Sarmat can be launched similarly to a standard ICBM, but it may also be able to engage in a technique known as fractional orbital bombardment.

A fractional orbital bombardment involves launching an ICBM into a low Earth orbit, which is substantially lower than a standard launch and may even be directed away from the target.
