About Jiribam, Manipur:

Location: Westernmost boundary of Manipur, adjoining Cachar district of Assam.
Geography: Situated in a valley, on the bank of the Jiri River near its confluence with the Barak River.
Establishment: Became an independent district in December 2016, formerly a subdivision of Imphal East district.
Nickname: Known as the western gate of Manipur.
