News: In the most current report of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR) water hole census, 374 creatures from 18 different wild species of animals and birds were counted.

The Sahyadri Ranges of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra are home to the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR).

In the southern region of Maharashtra, it combines the Chandoli National Park and the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary.

The area surrounding the Koyna Dam, the Warna River, as well as numerous other small rivers and streams that originate in the Western Ghats and run east are all included in the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve.

Evergreen, semi-evergreen, and moist deciduous forests make up the vegetation.

The Sahyadri region’s ecosystem is made up of plateaus, lateritic woods, and grasslands, the latter of which is referred to locally as “Sadaa” and has significant habitat significance.

Top carnivores including the Tiger, Wild dog, and Leopard, which are all endangered species, can be found at the Tiger Reserve.

Gaur, Sambar, Four Horned Antelope, Mouse Deer, and Giant Squirrel are among the herbivores.

The Indian Long-billed Vulture has been spotted on the crest line, and the area is home to the Atlas Moth, Moon Moth, and several endangered Butterflies.
