REACHOUT Scheme

News: The Ministry of Earth Sciences is implementing an overarching programme called Research, Education and Training Outreach (REACHOUT) for capacity building, according to the Union Minister of Earth Sciences.  

REACHOUT strategy The International Training Center for Operational Oceanography (ITCOocean), the Research and Development in Earth System Science (RDESS), and the Program for the Development of Skilled Manpower in Earth System Sciences make up the Research, Education and Training Outreach (REACHOUT) plan (DESK)

This programme is being implemented nationwide, not just in certain States or UTs.

The main goals of the aforementioned sub-schemes are to support various R &D initiatives in the focus areas of various Earth System Sciences components that are theme- and need-based and that would contribute to the achievement of the national goals established for MoES.

Create fruitful partnerships with foreign organisations for the exchange of cutting-edge Earth scientific and technological information and to deliver services to underdeveloped nations.

Build up a skilled and knowledgeable workforce in the earth sciences with the assistance of academic institutions both domestically and internationally.
