About Incident Details:

  • NIA filed charges against four CPI(Maoist) cadres for firing at Kerala Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) commandos in Wayanad on November 7, 2023.
  • Attack occurred during a combing mission by SOG to apprehend armed Maoist cadres in Pe-rya, Wayanad.
  • Two CPI(Maoist) members, Thiruvenkidam and Shreemathi, apprehended during the operation.
  • Three others, including Latha and Sundari, managed to escape.
