New Goa Manohar International Airport wins best sustainable greenfield airport award

News: At the 14th International Conference-cum-Awards for Civil Aviation in 2023, GMR Goa International Airport (GGIAL), a division of GMR Airports Infrastructure, received the category for “Best Sustainable Greenfield Airport” within aviation sustainability and environment.

 

  • The prize was given to GGIAL in recognition of their “outstanding initiatives” in making sustainability one of their guiding principles.
  • In front of participants and industry leaders at the conference yesterday, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia gave the award to the senior GGIAL staff members.
  • According to a GMR Goa International Airport announcement, the forum honours businesses involved in civil aviation initiatives that incorporate cutting-edge technology and best practises into their regular business operations.
  • Contribution, inventiveness, application, relevance, and the potential for an influence in each category are the criteria for prizes.
  • According to the press release, the jury assessed the participants based on numerous criteria and their capacity for original thought.
  • The CEO of GMR Goa International Airport, RV Sheshan, said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award, which reaffirms our steady commitment towards sustainability by best use of the available energy and natural resources.
