GOVERNMENT CLEARS ₹1.05 LAKH CRORE INDIGENOUS DEFENCE PURCHASES

- Major approval: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) cleared ₹1.05 lakh crore for 10 capital purchase proposals via indigenous sourcing.
- Strategic focus: This was the first DAC meeting post-Operation Sindoor, aiming to boost armed forces’ capability and enhance combat readiness.

- Tri-services boost: AoN for Electronic Warfare Systems, Armoured Recovery Vehicles, and Inventory Management Systems for enhanced supply chain management.
- Naval strength: Approvals for Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Submersible Autonomous Vessels, and Super Rapid Gun Mounts to protect maritime borders.
