Global Conference On Compressed Biogas

News: It won’t be long before New Delhi hosts the international Conference on Compressed Biogas.

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas is in charge of organising the Global Conference on Compressed Biogas.

The conference’s focus is on developing a progressive policy framework for growth and a solid CBG foundation.

The goals are to inform the sector on the steps the Indian government has taken to grow the compressed biogas industry and to pinpoint the areas where regulatory changes are needed.

India is committed to meeting its net zero emission goal by 2070, and the government has launched a number of programmes to do so.

Compressed Biogas (CBG) possesses characteristics similar to CNG with a higher calorific content.

Given the amount of biomass that is available in the nation, it can be used as an alternative green renewable and can replace CNG in automotive, industrial, and commercial applications.

The availability of feedstock, CBG offtake, fermented organic manure, carbon credits, incentives, investment, and finance for the CBG industry, as well as the biofuel laws of various states plus CBG producers on state policies and worldwide experiences, will be the main topics of discussion.

Institutional partners include TERI, NAMA Facility, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and LCB Forum (Low Carbon Biofuel Forum), Greece.

This conference is also supported by Indian Oil Corporation, Verbio India, Canara Bank, IndianOil Adani Ventures Limited – IAV Biogas, SBI Capital, SIDBI, Praj Industries, and Maschinenfabrik Bernard KRONE GmbH.
