Defense Cooperation Agreement : India And Romania

News: The Defense Cooperation Agreement was inked by India and Romania with the intention of establishing and enhancing their respective militaries’ cooperation.

By exchanging expertise and knowledge on topics of mutual interest, such as the co-development and co-production of military hardware, the agreement will establish the legal foundation for future defence collaboration.

The agreement will encourage defence collaboration between the two nations and create a wealth of opportunities in fields like cyber defense, science, technology, and research and development.

After being officially established in 1948, bilateral ties between India and Romania have steadily increased.

Both parties upheld amicable and cordial links, which culminated in the two countries’ diplomatic relations reaching their 70th anniversary in 2018.

Both nations’ commerce and investment with one another have steadily grown since the 1989 revolution in Romania that toppled the communist regime.

India and Romania have lent each other assistance at the UN on a multilateral level.
