About the Framework Development:

  • The National Framework of Early Childhood Stimulation, 2024 emphasises learning from birth, outlining month-by-month activities for children up to age three.
  • An internal committee, including representatives from various ministries, educational institutions, and civil society organisations, finalised the framework.
  • Titled ‘Navchetana’, the curriculum aligns with the National Education Policy, 2020, advocating continuous learning.
  • Over 14 lakh anganwadi staff will undergo training in the curriculum, focusing on activities such as talking, playing, and sensory stimulation to aid developmental milestones.
About National Framework for Early Childhood Stimulation (NFECS) 2024:

  • Target Audience: Caregivers and Anganwadi Workers.
  • Age Group: Children from birth to three years.
  • Objectives: Provide holistic early stimulation, emphasising responsive caregiving and early learning opportunities.
  • Aim: Equip Anganwadi Workers with essential knowledge on children’s growth, brain development, and nurturing care.
  • Key Principles: Serve and return, caregiver’s three acts (love, talk, play), positive guidance.
  • Special Focus: Screening, inclusion, and referrals for children with disabilities (Divyang).
