PM to Visit Odisha, Uttarakhand on January 28
Why in the news?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar and the 38th National Games in Dehradun, focusing on industrial development and promoting sustainability in sports events respectively.
Inauguration of Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, at 11 AM.
- The conclave aims to position Odisha as a major hub for investment and industrial development under the Purvodaya vision.
- A Make in Odisha Exhibition showcasing the state’s industrial advancements will also be inaugurated.
- The two-day event (28th-29th January) will feature CEOs’ roundtables, sectoral sessions, B2B meetings, and policy discussions to attract global investors.
Focus on Industrial Growth:
- The conclave will serve as a strategic platform for industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore investment opportunities in Odisha.
- Key sessions will promote targeted engagement with investors across various sectors to enhance the state’s industrial ecosystem.
Inauguration of 38th National Games in Uttarakhand:
- At 6 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 38th National Games in Dehradun.
- Hosted across 11 cities in 8 districts, the event will run from 28th January to 14th February.
- Athletes from 36 states and one union territory will compete in 35 sports disciplines, with medals awarded in 33 sports and two exhibition events.
- Yoga and Mallakhamb are included for the first time.
- The games embrace sustainability with the theme “Green Games.”
- A “Sports Forest” park will be developed, where over 10,000 saplings will be planted by athletes and guests.
- Medals and certificates will be made from biodegradable materials.
