The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship actively participated in Special Campaign 4.0, achieving significant reductions in pending grievances and optimising record management to enhance operational efficiency.

Special Campaign 4.0: Focus on Efficiency and Cleanliness:

  • The Government of India launched Special Campaign 4.0 from 2nd to 31st October 2024, prioritising cleanliness (Swachhata) and reducing the backlog in government offices as directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Led by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the campaign emphasises efforts in field offices, ministries, departments, and subsidiary organisations to streamline pending tasks and improve overall operational efficiency.

MSDE’s Focus on Pendency Reduction and Grievance Management:

  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) actively engaged in clearing references from Members of Parliament, public grievances, and grievance appeals to meet campaign goals.
  • Secretary of MSDE directed senior and nodal officers to address issues daily and consult with complainants to ensure grievances are properly resolved, aligning with the Prime Minister’s guidance.
  • To raise awareness on record management, MSDE collaborated with the National Archives of India to organise workshops for officers and staff across departments and field offices.

Achievements and Impact on Record Management:

  • MSDE disposed of 9 MP references, 3 parliamentary assurances, 466 public grievances, and 23 grievance appeals, alongside simplifying five regulatory procedures.
  • In record management, 4,813 files were reviewed and 597 outdated files weeded out; 855 e-files were reviewed, closing 217 of them, freeing up approximately 21,087 square feet of space.
  • Special Campaign 4.0 has promoted cleaner office environments and heightened awareness of environmental conservation, with MSDE dedicated to meeting identified targets for continued progress.
