Why in the news?

For the first time in months, Hamas launched a barrage of rockets from Gaza, triggering air-raid sirens in Tel Aviv.
No casualties or damage were reported; it was the first long-range attack from Gaza since January.
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, claimed responsibility.
