INDIAN NAVY SEIZES HIJACKED IRANIAN VESSEL, RESCUES CREW
Why in the news?
Indian Navy intercepts and rescues crew from hijacked Iranian vessel, thwarting piracy attempt in the Arabian Sea.
About the Indian Navy Foils Hijacking Attempt:
- Indian Navy ships Sumedha and Trishul intercept and liberate hijacked Iranian fishing vessel, Al-Kambar, from nine armed pirates.
- Crew of 23 Pakistani nationals rescued safely after intense coercive measures lasting over 12 hours.
- Navy specialists conducted thorough checks on Al-Kambar to ensure seaworthiness before escorting it to a secure location for resuming fishing activities.
