HARBINGER 2023: RBI Announces 2nd Global Hackathon

News: The “HARBINGER-2023” was recently unveiled by the Central Bank of India.

 

  • The hackathon’s focus is on “Inclusive Digital Services.”
  • The hackathon will feature competitors from 22 distinct nations.
  • Israel, the Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, the USA, and the UK are among those mentioned. Moreover, 363 suggestions from Indian candidates were sent to RBI.
  • The hackathon will be divided into four sections: blockchain transactions, digital banking, rules, and regulations.
  • Fintech was invited to take part in the Hackathon by the central bank.
  • They will create strategies to make it easier for people with disabilities to use digital financial services.
  • Also, the fintech will aim to expand the central bank’s use of digital currencies.
  • The HACKATHON participants will have the chance to speak with business professionals.
  • They will serve as mentors to some of them. Also, emerging fintech can display their creative solutions.
  • The hackathon winner will receive Rs 40 lakhs, and the runner-up will get Rs 20 lakhs.
