Write a brief report on the ‘Namami Gange’ project which is a flagship programme of the government along with the recent developments in relation with it.
Introduction:
Namami Ganga is an integrated conservation mission which was approved in 2014 by the NDA government. It has been continued even under the second term of Narendra Modi-led government and is a multi-faceted project. It addresses the issue of pollution of ganga river and measures to purify the water body.

Conclusion:
Recently a new sewage plant has been approved with a capacity of 35 MLD(mega litres of water). The projects are subdivided as entry-level, medium term and long term activities for better implementation. Public-Private Partnership model has been chosen in many of the projects for better execution. Even though there are visible changes lot of efforts are still required in this direction.
