Vedic Heritage Portal : New Delhi
The platform for Vedic Heritage was launched in New Delhi by the Union Home Minister.
The Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts is responsible for creating the Vedic heritage portal.
The portal will serve as the user’s one-stop shop for all information pertaining to the Vedic legacy.
Four Vedas’ audiovisual recording has been posted online at the Vedic Heritage portal. Over 18 thousand mantras from the four Vedas, totaling more than 550 hours, are contained in the portal.
The portal’s goal is to use technology to preserve knowledge from old books and manuscripts for future generations.
The Ministry of Culture founded the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in 1987 as an independent organization to serve as a hub for academic study, research, and dissemination in the arts.
It has a trust (Board of Trustees), which convenes frequently to provide overall guidance about the work of the Centre. A Chairman leads the Executive Committee, which is selected from the Trustees.
