About the Coalition:

  • The coalition will conduct joint patrols in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden in response to Houthi missile and drone attacks.
  • Participating countries include the UK, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles, and Spain.
About Houthi Rebels:

·  Houthi is a Yemen-based rebel group officially known as Ansar Allah.

·  Aligned with Iran, they adhere to Zaidi Shia Islam.

·  Gained prominence in the Yemeni Civil War.

·  Fought against Yemeni government forces and coalitions led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

·  Accused of human rights abuses and involvement in regional conflicts.
