Union Minister Launches “Rangeen Machhli” App

The “Rangeen Machhli” app was launched to support the ornamental fisheries sector by providing multilingual resources on fish care, breeding, and aquarium management, promoting employment and local businesses.

Details about the Launch:

  • Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, launched the “Rangeen Machhli” app at ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar.
  • Developed by ICAR-CIFA under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), the app aims to enhance the ornamental fisheries sector.

App Features and Accessibility:

  • Multilingual: Available in 8 Indian languages, accessible to a wide audience.
  • Provides comprehensive information on care, breeding, and maintenance of ornamental fish for hobbyists, shop owners, and farmers.
  • Includes a “Find Aquarium Shops” tool with an updated directory of local aquarium shops.
