- It criticised the inaccurate portrayal of findings to create alarm regarding the growth of the Muslim population.
- PFI referenced census data and National Family Health Surveys to demonstrate declining growth rates among Muslims in India.
- The working paper titled “Share of religious minorities: a cross-country analysis (1950-2015)” analysed the shares of religious communities in 167 countries, including India.
- It revealed that while the Muslim population in India increased by 43.15% from 1950 to 2015, the Hindu population share decreased by 7.82%.
