About Proposed National Council for Agriculture and Rural Transformation (NCART):
- The Centre plans to establish NCART as part of its 100-day action plan for coordinated actions in the agriculture sector.
- NCART aims to serve as a federal body, devising policies and programs for agricultural development and rural transformation.
- The council may include representation from both the Centre and states, similar to the GST Council.
- Discussions on the council’s formation have taken place during meetings of a Group of Secretaries, chaired by the Agriculture Secretary.
