  • Telangana’s Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, announced plans to set up 100 stalls for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) near Shilparamam in Hyderabad.
  • The initiative aims to facilitate the sale of produce by SHGs, providing them with a platform to market their products directly to consumers.
What are Self-Help Groups (SHGs)?

●   Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are informal associations aiming to improve living conditions.

●   Composed of individuals with similar socio-economic backgrounds.

●   Address issues like poverty, illiteracy, lack of skills, and access to formal credit collectively.

●   Promote self-employment and poverty alleviation.

About Telangana Mahila Shakti Scheme:

●   The Chief Minister of Telangana inaugurated the ‘Telangana Mahila Shakti’ scheme, targeting the upliftment of 63.86 lakh SHG members.

●   The scheme aims to enhance the socio-economic status of women by empowering them through entrepreneurship and financial independence.
