About  the Upper Yamuna River Board(UYRB):

  • Establishment: UYRB was established through a 1994 MoU signed by Chief Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
  • Under Ministry: It operates under the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
  • Role: UYRB manages water allocation from Yamuna’s origin to Okhla Barrage, fostering interstate collaboration and water resource management.
