Seven New Battalions Of The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Force
News: One of India’s Central Armed Police Forces is the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
- It is a specialised mountain force, and the majority of the officers and soldiers have received professional mountaineering and skiing training.
- Following the Sino-Indian War in 1962, it was built and deployed along India’s border with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.
- The CRPF Act was initially used to establish ITBP. Nonetheless, the ITBPF Act was passed by the legislature in 1992, and the ensuing regulations were drafted in 1994.
- “Shaurya-Dridhata-Karma Nishtha” is the motto of the Force (Valour – Determination – Devotion to Duty).
