About the Court’s Decision:
Chief Justice Chandrachud, leading a three-judge Bench, deems the arbitral award as a “grave miscarriage of justice,” exercising Article 142 of the Constitution.
The court overturned its previous judgement upholding the award, acknowledging the High Court’s findings that it was “patently illegal.”
