Sanchar Saathi Portal
News: A citizen-focused portal called Sanchar Saathi was just inaugurated by the Union Minister of Communications.
The Sanchar Saathi portal seeks to offer a range of improvements and services in the areas of telecommunications and mobile connectivity.
It was created by C-DoT, a division of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), to stop frauds such identity theft, falsified KYC, banking frauds, etc.
Mobile phone customers can use the portal to: Verify the connections shown under their names,
Report connections that are unnecessary or false.
Block the stolen or misplaced mobile devices,
Before purchasing a mobile phone, verify the authenticity of the IMEI.
The following three changes are being made as part of the framework for the portal:
Anywhere in the nation, lost or stolen phones can be tracked and blocked using CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register).
Understanding your mobile connections By logging in using their mobile number, customers can view the amount of mobile connections issued in their name. Any unauthorised or undesired connections can be quickly prevented thanks to this feature’s assistance.
This AI-based solution, known as ASTR (Artificial Intelligence and Facial Recognition driven Solution for Telecom SIM Subscriber Verification), makes it easier to analyse mobile connections and has capabilities like texting IMEI-based phone theft information to the owner and law enforcement authorities.
