Prime Minister Hasina of Bangladesh Unveils Indian LOC-Backed Section of Joydebpur-Tongi Railway Line

About the Project

 

  • The 11 km dual-gauge double line from Tongi to Jaydebpur will enable the railroad to operate more trains along this section of track, increasing its operational capacity.
  • This portion is used for transportation from Dhaka to other locations across the nation.
  • In addition, 69.20 km of rail line totaling three projects, including the running of trains on the Bangladesh Railways’ Rooppur and Shashidal routes, were officially opened by Prime Minister Hasina.
  • The railway’s Roopur segment will make it easier to deliver supplies and machinery to the Rooppur nuclear power facility.
