Praveen Sharma (IDSE) appointed as Director of National Health Authority

News: Praveen Sharma (IDSE) has been selected for appointment as Director in the National Health Authority (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare according to an order issued on January 19, 2023 from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

 

  • Sharma, an Indian Defense Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer from the 2005 batch, has been appointed to the position under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years beginning on the date of taking over control of the post or until further orders.

 

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

 

  • The National Health Policy (NHP) 2017 aims to achieve the highest level of health and wellbeing for all people at all ages through an orientation toward preventive and promotional health care in all developmental policies and universal access to high-quality health care services without anyone having to suffer financial hardship as a result.
  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare established a committee under the direction of Shri J. Satyanarayana to create an implementation framework for the National Health Stack as a follow-up to the NHP’s specific objectives for implementing digital technology.
  • The National Digital Health Blueprint (NDHB), which was created by this group, lays out the necessary components and an implementation strategy for digital health in its entirety.
