PM launches Subhadra Yojana and other major Initiatives
Why in the news?
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch Odisha’s women-centric Subhadra Yojana and other major railway and highway projects during his visit to Odisha.
- The event marks his 74th birthday and the first visit since attending
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s swearing-in.
Key Highlights of Subhadra Yojana
- The scheme will benefit eligible women aged 21-60 years, providing ₹50,000 over five years (2024-2029).
- An amount of ₹10,000 per annum will be credited in two installments to over 1 crore women’s bank accounts.
- The PM will initiate fund transfers to more than 10 lakh women during the visit.
Other Key Projects
- PM Modi will lay the foundation for railway projects worth ₹2,800 crore and national highway projects worth ₹1,000 crore.
- He will release sanction letters to 32,000 PMAY-G beneficiaries and participate in Griha Pravesh celebrations for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY.
- Launch of the Awaas+ 2024 app and PMAY-Urban 2.0 guidelines will also take place.

- Families with no pucca house across the country
- Belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG), and Middle Income Group (MIG)
- Coverage: Applicable to all statutory towns as per Census 2011 and towns notified afterward
