The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the PM-AJAY Portal and AJAY Mobile App to digitize implementation of Scheduled Caste welfare schemes. The initiative aims to improve transparency, real-time monitoring, and efficient delivery under the PM-AJAY Scheme.

Key Features Of PM-AJAY Portal And Mobile App :

  • Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar launched the PM-AJAY Portal and AJAY Mobile App in New Delhi.
  • The initiative seeks to shift from a paper-based workflow to a fully digital governance system for Scheduled Caste welfare schemes.
  • The platform enables real-time processing, faster implementation, and improved transparency in welfare delivery.
  • The AJAY Mobile App provides mobile-based access to scheme-related services and facilitates field-level planning and implementation.
  • Features include geo-tagging, dashboard reporting, mobile inspections, photo uploads, notifications, and integration with existing government portals.

Objectives And Significance Of The Initiative

  • The initiative aims to strengthen implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY).
  • It focuses on improving last-mile delivery and village-level planning for Scheduled Caste welfare programmes.

About PM-AJAY Scheme :

●  PM-AJAY (Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana) is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

●  The scheme aims at the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes through livelihood generation and infrastructure development.

●  It merged earlier schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) and Special Central Assistance (SCA) components.

●  PM-AJAY focuses on creating SC-majority model villages, improving basic amenities, and promoting income-generating activities.

●  The scheme supports the broader constitutional vision of social justice, equality, and inclusive development under Articles 15, 17, and 46 of the Indian Constitution.
