NSCN-IM’S CHINA-MYANMAR MODULE ASSISTED BANNED OUTFITS IN MANIPUR: NIA

Why in the news?

  • The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet alleging that the “China-Myanmar module” of NSCN-IM aided two banned Meitei outfits in Manipur.
  • The NSCN-IM faction reportedly supported these outfits to infiltrate India, exploiting ethnic unrest in Manipur with the aim to destabilise the state and wage war against the Indian government.
