About Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF):

  • CAPF refers to seven security forces in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Assam Rifles (AR):Security force primarily deployed in the NorthEast region.
  • Border Security Force (BSF):Guards India’s land borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
  • Central Industrial Security Force (CISF):Protects vital installations like airports, nuclear power plants, and industries.
  • Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF):Handles internal security, counter-insurgency, and anti-Naxal operations.
  • Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP):Guards India’s borders with China in the Himalayas.
  • National Security Guard (NSG):Special forces for counter-terrorism and VIP security.
