India and Bangladesh agreed to initiate a dialogue on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement.
About the News:
- Connectivity and Trade: Trade between the two countries is now being conducted in Indian rupees, with new cross-border rail links and port facilities established.
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs): Multiple MoUs were signed, covering areas like maritime cooperation, rail connectivity, oceanography, health, and disaster management
- Railway Connectivity: Efforts to improve cross-border railway links and transit facilities for economic infrastructure and sub-regional connectivity to Bhutan and Nepal were discussed.

- Teesta River Project: India announced the formation of a technical team to visit Bangladesh for discussions on the conservation and management of the Teesta river.
