NCTE’S PROPOSAL FOR NATIONAL MISSION FOR MENTORING

Why in the News?

  • National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) aims to increase mentor teachers from 60 to 1,000.
  • Proposal awaits the Ministry of Education’s approval for the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) rollout nationwide.

About Mentoring:

  • 700 mentee teachers have enrolled for training on the NMM portal.
  • Mentorship areas cover instructional modules, digital education, inclusivity, professionalism, and more.
  • Among 60 mentors, over 30 are Padma awardees.
  • Aligned with NEP 2020, NMM enhances teaching skills and promotes ongoing learning.
  • NCTE utilized funds for digital infrastructure and drafted “The Bluebook,” awaiting Ministry approval for nationwide rollout.

About NEP 2020
