NCTE’S PROPOSAL FOR NATIONAL MISSION FOR MENTORING
Why in the News?
- National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) aims to increase mentor teachers from 60 to 1,000.
- Proposal awaits the Ministry of Education’s approval for the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) rollout nationwide.
About Mentoring:
- 700 mentee teachers have enrolled for training on the NMM portal.
- Mentorship areas cover instructional modules, digital education, inclusivity, professionalism, and more.
- Among 60 mentors, over 30 are Padma awardees.
- Aligned with NEP 2020, NMM enhances teaching skills and promotes ongoing learning.
- NCTE utilized funds for digital infrastructure and drafted “The Bluebook,” awaiting Ministry approval for nationwide rollout.
