NCTE'S PROPOSAL FOR NATIONAL MISSION FOR MENTORING

Why in the News?

National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) aims to increase mentor teachers from 60 to 1,000.
Proposal awaits the Ministry of Education’s approval for the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) rollout nationwide.

About Mentoring:

700 mentee teachers have enrolled for training on the NMM portal.
Mentorship areas cover instructional modules, digital education, inclusivity, professionalism, and more.
Among 60 mentors, over 30 are Padma awardees.
Aligned with NEP 2020, NMM enhances teaching skills and promotes ongoing learning.
NCTE utilized funds for digital infrastructure and drafted “The Bluebook,” awaiting Ministry approval for nationwide rollout.
