National Initiative For Promotion Of Upskilling Of Nirman Workers (NIPUN) Scheme

News: The training programme for construction employees working on the Central Vista project in New Delhi was just finished by the National Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of Nirman employees (NIPUN).

 

The NIPUN Scheme is a cutting-edge initiative for the skill development of construction employees.

It is a project of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), part of its Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission flagship programme. (DAY-NULM).

Goal: To teach more than 1 lakh construction employees through new skill-upgrading courses and give them employment chances abroad.

The project NIPUN’s implementation partner would be the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the nodal organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India.

 

Three phases make up the project’s execution: international placement through businesses, contractors, and builders; training through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at construction sites; and training through Fresh Skilling by the Plumbing and Infrastructure Sector Skill Council (SSC).

The courses will be taught at training facilities that are accredited and affiliated and are in line with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).

It will provide trainees “Kaushal Bima,” a three-year accidental insurance plan with a Rs 2 lakh coverage limit.
