The Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) is set to host the National Horticulture Fair (NHF) from February 27 to March 1 at its Hessarghatta campus on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The event will center around the theme “Horticulture for Viksit Bharat – Nutrition, Empowerment, and Livelihood,” highlighting the crucial role of horticulture in advancing the nation’s development.

The fair aims to address critical needs within the horticulture sector by showcasing advancements in crop production, effective pest management strategies, post-harvest technologies, and innovative value addition methods. It seeks to provide a platform for experts, farmers, and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore solutions for boosting agricultural productivity and sustainability.

A key focus of the event will be promoting nutritious crops and demonstrating the diverse varieties of horticultural produce that contribute to food security and nutritional well-being. Through interactive exhibits, technical sessions, and live demonstrations, the fair will offer insights into modern agricultural practices and technologies that empower farmers and enhance rural livelihoods.

The National Horticulture Fair promises to be a vital initiative in driving the growth of India’s horticulture sector, aligning with the broader vision of a developed and prosperous Bharat.
