  • To reach the goal of making India a developed country by 2047, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has urged the nation’s youth to sign up for the My Yuva Bharat platform.
  • Thakur stated in a video message that the nation’s youth are crucial to accomplishing the objective.
  • He continued by saying that by accomplishing historic feats in the last few years, India has created a new identity for itself on the global stage.
  • He stressed that everyone in India should get involved in public participation as it is crucial to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

About the platform

  • It is an autonomous body that will benefit youth aged 15 to 29, in accordance with the definition of ‘Youth’ in the National Youth Policy.
  • The beneficiaries of program components intended specifically for adolescents will fall within the age range of 10 to 19 years.
  • It will assist in directing the government’s attention toward youth-led development and elevating young people from being “passive recipients” to “active drivers” of development.
  • On National Unity Day, October 31, 2023, it was officially launched.
  • The Department of Youth Affairs’ youth outreach initiatives would be strengthened by Mera Yuva Bharat with the aid of a technological platform.

The objectives

  • The primary goal of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) is to establish it as a platform for youth development across the entire government.
  • Youth would become nation builders and agents of community change under the new arrangement, providing them with resources and connections to opportunities.
  • This would enable them to serve as the Yuva Setu between the citizens and the government.
  • It aims to use the enormous energy of youth for the development of the country.
