MODERATO of Japan now in Indian Tech capital Bengaluru
The Moderato Technique of Japan is now being implemented for the first time in the capital city of Karnataka Bengaluru which is also considered an Indian tech capital.
This new method helps clear traffic congestion and makes traffic movement easier and simpler. It uses advanced modern-day technology to
get the traffic at ease. It has a major investment of about 70 crore rupees, which has Nagoya Electric Works Ltd implementing it and funded by a Japanese international cooperation agency, both of which are
found to be Japanese firms.
This technology is expected to produce a near about 13 percent decrease in the queue length at the same time having an increase of 13kmph on average travel.
How does MODERATO work?
Moderato stands for Management of origin destination-related adaptation for traffic optimization
It is a core of the universal traffic management system (UTMS)
It is a technology-based area traffic control system (ATCS) and uses real-time traffic data recorded from the sensors.
They work 24/7. All vehicles are considered the same, no separate arrangements have been made for the Ambulances.
Right now we have fixed traffic signal timers regardless of the count of vehicles but upon the implementation of the Japanese-origin technique MODERATO, the signals will continue to change accordingly with the density or the count of vehicles. Out of 40000 circles, 888 signals are present MODERATO is getting implemented at 482 signals of Bengaluru
