Marketing And Logistics Development For Promotion Of Tribal Products From North-Eastern Region (PTP-NER) Scheme

News: For the benefit of the Scheduled Tribes in the North-Eastern Region, the PTP-NER Scheme has been established.

The goal is to expand the opportunity for indigenous craftsmen to support themselves through more effective logistics, sourcing, and marketing of their products in the North Eastern States.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim are included in its scope.

By setting up 68 Tribal Artisan Melas (TAMs) across several districts in the region, it is intended to start the process of hiring tribal artisans from the North Eastern Region.

The District Administration and other relevant organizations/departments working in the field, etc., shall be consulted and supported in the organisation of the TAMs.

Regular Design & Skill Development training sessions that are targeted to the demands of the market for tribal recipients are also included in the project.

the Department of Posts’ India Post, the North Eastern State Government Departments/Agencies, and the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC).

In order to achieve the objectives of the scheme, India Post will offer logistical support.
